This is the first animal Dorrin has done in this crisscross technique. It’s something he’s been playing with for a while and he has done a few paintings in this style before. Some people say it looks like pixels. This style is extremely time-intensive. Each brush stroke is unique and different. Dorrin started it in January and didn’t finish it until March. The reason it took so long was that it was so daunting. But slowly over those months, Dorrin added a section here and there. If you look closely you’ll probably be able to see the sections. It is an acrylic on canvas piece and is 22 in by 28 in. It is unframed.
