The “Discernment” print is a reproduction of an original 2016 oil painting by Jonathan Whitlock, an artist who makes his home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The work is a Picasso-like depiction of men, women and children in a musical environment, with a blue and gray color pallette. It conveys a natural sense of intrigue. The painting was born of a sketch Jonathan made. “Most of it came out of my noggin,” he says. “It’s a way of showing expression.” The original Discernment painting is large, but the print is 11 inches by 14 inches.
