David Allen

Dave Allen is a retired contract sales manager and pastor who has found inspiration to paint from God, who he believes is the greatest Artist! Dave’s hope is for his paintings to capture a particular sense of place, peace, and atmosphere.

In 2018, Dave was afflicted with a horrible, life threatening strep infection in his right foot and calf. He almost lost his leg. Dave endured 18 days in the hospital, three major operations, and nine months of wound care. He still struggles to use his right leg for long periods time, particularly when standing. He first photographs his subject, then uses his photo as a point or reference to compose the painting. Among his favorites are landscape themes.

Dave’s quote is “As I healed, I decided to retire and devote my life to the things that mattered most to me: my God, my family, and my art.” He currently paints at his home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
