Kate Manners
Kate Manners creates acrylic pour paintings on canvas. She also makes hand-painted or pour-painted craft bird houses and other craft items. Kate has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, mostly affecting her lower body, so she uses a wheelchair. Her fine motor control is somewhat impaired, and she has low vision. Pour painting is the best way for her to adapt and allows her full creative expression.

Dorrin Gingrich
All Dorrin Gingerich’s life, his dominant right arm would clench and curl. In high school he was diagnosed with an incurable neurological movement disorder called Dystonia and that it would get worse and spread. As he struggled to find something new to do, his creative side began to form. He works predominantly in acrylic painting and experiments with new ways to use texture to bring his paintings to life.

Here’s his unique take on the phrase “Personal Growth.” You will never think about that phrase in the same way again. This photo was picked for this auction by his fellow ASPIE artists who thought this represented a classic Dorrin perspective. This is an original 16×20 oil on canvas painting. Jonathan Whitlock
Adversity can deal creativity a setback but seldom stifles it. Jonathan majored in Studio Arts at college. He sustained a traumatic brain injury when he was involved in a car accident. When he emerged from a coma, he had impaired muscle control and balance, blindness in one eye, and spasticity. He continues to regain his artistic instincts while exploring new creative paths and a broader stroke style.

Jonathan has recently enjoyed painting birds and wanted to try the challenge of depicting a hummingbird in motion. He also experimented with a contrasting palette of bright colors. Malcolm Corley
Malcolm Corley was diagnosed with autism at an early age. But early on, he began to draw sketches from TV shows and Dr. Seuss’s illustrations. By 2019, several of his sketches and paintings were published. His art has been shown at the several venues in Lancaster. And one of his paintings was chosen by The Kennedy Center for display in Washington DC. Malcolm also loves to listen to music and can sing in six languages.

Malcolm Corley
This is Malcom’s original acrylic marker, acrylic paint and ink, on canvas, size16x20, framed painting entitled, “Pop.” Why “Pop?” Because the multiple bright colors of the flower pop out from the dark blue background. The features of the flower are segmented into the vibrant colors designed to help understand the palette of the flower versus the form of the flower. This technique is unique to Malcolm and his autistic view of the world where details are brought to life differently. The starting bid is $400.
Steven Georges
Steven Georges was born with cerebral palsy. He had many surgeries to aid in his body’s uneven growth. With the help of a wheelchair, crutches, and physical therapy he was able to improve. Steven takes any variety of recycled metal junk and turns them into different artistic shapes. With years of practice, he now transforms inorganic metal forms into “organic” works of art creating beauty in what once was thrown away.

This peacock is a new creation by Steven, designed expressly for this auction. This peacock is a floor-standing figure, made entirely of metal. It is quite large, standing approximately 3 feet tall, with classic red and white colors made from recycled objects of all kinds. The peacock body is highly accurate to the actual shape of a peacock. The sweeping tail is movable and finishes at the tips with the same intricate roses as the last piece. The starting bid is $1000.
Lu Bohn
Lu is a teenager who has autism. He struggled with attention, flexible behavior, and processing due to this. He has been in occupational therapy for two years adopting strategies like mindfulness tools to stay calm in stressful situations to which he is extra sensitive. Lu enjoys studying nature and history and making art drawings from those topics.

David Fogell is a teenager who enjoys the arts. For someone who struggled using his hands for fine motor skills as a child, David worked hard to overcome his challenges. In 2024, he was awarded a gold medal in the Lancaster County Young Artist Awards competition for a sculpture he created.

Trish Barsby
Trish is a visually impaired artist. She was already an artist when she was diagnosed with Stargardts Disease, a form of macular degeneration. She had to learn new techniques to draw detail with her dwindling eyesight. She focused on pen and ink to start and moved into pencil as she gained confidence.

Danielle Newman was diagnosed with autism. As a young child, Dani became nonverbal and struggled with communicating. She spent a year in Dolphin Therapy where she learned how to connect with the animals and ultimately speak again. She is now living her dream of becoming a multi-artist. Dave Allen is a retired sales manager and pastor who has found inspiration to paint from God, who he believes is the greatest Artist! In 2018, Dave was afflicted with a horrible infection in his right foot and calf. He almost lost his leg. Dave endured 18 days in the hospital, three operations, and nine months of wound care. He still struggles to use his right leg.

Much of the snow in the field is untouched but the plowed and sanded road reminds us that others are near. The starting bid is $250.
Johnnie Wiggins
Johnnie Wiggins discovered his artistic voice eight years ago. Completely self-taught, Johnnie’s journey has been guided by a few art books and a dedication to his craft. Johnnie encountered eyesight problems during his childhood, which have progressively worsened. He was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, which affects his vision, depth perception, and light sensitivity. Despite these challenges, he continues to create stunning works of art.

It evokes the motion of dance and the freedom of expression we all have inside us. Johnnie commented that it was a fun piece to paint with plenty of emotion which he captured with the highlights of oil pastels with colors that pop. The starting bid is $400.
Patricia Caulfield
Patricia is a visually impaired artist working primarily in mixed media on board. She founded her own nonprofit, InSight Arts, to promote the artwork of visually impaired artists. Pat has shown her work through Creative York, The York Art Association, and The Red Raven Art Gallery in Lancaster PA. She also founded an art show for the Glaucoma Research Foundation in San Francisco, CA and received the President’s Award in 2023 for her work in promoting hope through art.

Patricia Caulfield
These are a set of four painting, a series of beautiful scenes, acrylic on paper, matted and framed in white, size 8×8. Clouds have always been a source of inspiration for Patricia. By constantly studying form, movement, and light, Pat creates atmospheric paintings without photographic reference. Drawing from the motivation of nature, her vision of depth and space is brought to the forefront. The starting bid is $400. Marion Fodera
Marion started doodling in grade school. She advanced from sketching fashion designs to still life oil painting and now focuses on watercolor painting. She went to the hospital for a shoulder replacement but ended up paralyzed on her left side. Later, with advanced osteoporosis, she fell and broke more than a dozen bones, but the surgeons have “put her back together.” This does not stop her from continuing to paint every single day.

Jo Lincoln
Josephine Lincoln makes beautiful watercolor paintings. As she was grieving the loss of her husband, a friend suggested she come to an art class. And that was where Jo found her love for watercolor painting. In 2016 Jo fell hitting her head causing a subdural hematoma leaving Jo permanently balanced impaired. Thankfully, this did not affect her ability to paint. Jo continues to take art classes each week.
